about

Newcastle was subject to some of the most horrific and brutal witch trials of the middle ages. This song is inspired by the story of a man who earned a pocketful of coin travelling the country accusing and condemning witches, a witch-pricker. He would use a needle to "prick" the thigh of an accused, if she bled she was human, if she wasn't she was a witch. This man used a retractable pin to condemn all he accused. 200+ died in Newcastle from his actions.
